About Us
Welcome to our home—a cozy flat shared by two humans, an energetic French Bulldog, and a very independent cat. If you live in a multi-pet household, especially one with both a cat and a dog in an apartment, you already know the delicate balancing act we used to face every single day.
The Daily Chaos
Living in a flat means space is at a premium. Every room serves a purpose, and managing the boundaries between a curious, food-motivated dog and a cat who demands her privacy was a constant battle.
Our cat’s sanctuary—her litter box and feeding station—had to be kept in a specific room to give her peace. But having pets in a flat meant dealing with non-stop daily dilemmas:
The Mealtime Heist: Is the dog currently sneaking into the room to devour the cat’s high-protein food?
The Litter Box Raid: Will he decide to dig around in her sand and make an absolute mess across the floor?
The Door Dilemma: If we keep the door completely open, the dog gets free access to cause chaos. If we shut it, the cat is locked out of her own safe space. Leaving doors propped open with heavy books or doorstops just resulted in them getting pushed aside—or shutting accidentally.
We were constantly checking rooms, moving obstacles, sweeping up scattered litter, and stressing over whether our pets were coexisting peacefully while we were busy or out of the apartment.
The Simple Solution That Changed Everything
We knew there had to be a cleaner, simpler way to give our cat total freedom without giving our Frenchie free rein over the whole flat.
That’s when we discovered cat door latches.
Installing a door latch was a complete game-changer for our home layout. It holds the door open at the exact width needed for our cat to slip through effortlessly, while keeping it narrow enough that our broad-chested Frenchie can’t squeeze in. No permanent door alterations, no complex installations, and no more improvised barricades.
Life Made Simple & Carefree
Today, our flat is back to being a place of relaxation rather than constant monitoring.
Our cat has guaranteed access to her quiet space, her food stays firmly in her bowl, and the litter box remains untouched. Our dog stays safe from eating things he shouldn’t, and we no longer spend our days double-checking open doors or cleaning up preventable messes.
We created this site to share our hands-on experience, practical tips, and honest reviews of the best pet boundary solutions for apartment living—so you can spend less time refereeing your pets and more time enjoying them.
